We’re located right near the Market Yard in Jhalod. Being so close to the market means it’s always busy around here. There are tractors and trucks moving through all the time. Vasant Masala has its roots right here in this town. We handle a lot of different spices and masalas. The building we’re in is practical and built for work. You can smell the chili and coriander from the street sometimes. It’s a strong scent that gets into your clothes, but we’re used to it by now. We have a team that’s mostly made up of local people from Jhalod and the nearby villages. We don't use any big corporate talk. We just focus on getting the grinding and the packaging right. The floors are always covered in a bit of spice dust, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the job. We have our old machinery that we keep running with a bit of care and patience. Most days are about managing the flow of goods coming from the farmers and getting them ready for the kitchen. We don't have a big fancy office. Just a small corner where we keep the books and take calls. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. People in Jhalod know where to find us if they need anything. We have been part of this market landscape for quite a few years now.
