Our place is 1-103 in Zone B-9, tucked away behind the Swiss Glasscoat factory in the Vajlabh Udhyognagar GIDC. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re a first-timer, but being behind a big landmark like Swiss Glasscoat helps people get their bearings. The area is purely industrial. We spend our time working on technology bits, and the workshop is usually a bit of a mess with parts and tools. That’s just how we work; if it’s too clean, it feels like nothing is actually happening. We have a small office area where we handle the paperwork, but most of the action is in the back. The roads in this zone can be tricky when it rains, with plenty of puddles to avoid while walking to the canteen. We aren't a corporate giant with a PR team. We are just a bunch of people who know how to fix things and put systems together. Lunch is usually something brought from home in a tiffin or picked up from a nearby stall. We keep our heads down and focus on the tasks we have for the week. It’s a lot of manual work and checking specs. We like the grit of the GIDC; it feels like things are actually getting made here. Every now and then, a stray dog wanders in for a bit of shade.
