Shree Ashapuri Timber Mart

We have been operating Shree Ashapuri Timber Mart out of 65, Gidc for quite some time now. Most people around here just know us as the place with the big stacks of wood near the corner. It is a noisy spot because the saws are always running, and there is sawdust on almost everything in the office. I took over running things after my family had done it for years. It isn’t some polished showroom. It’s just a yard where we store timber and cut it to the sizes people need for their building projects. Some days are really busy with trucks coming in from the forest areas, and other days we are just sitting there sorting through the planks to find the right grain for a specific order. The weather affects us a lot too. When it rains, we have to hurry to cover everything up so the wood doesn't warp or get too wet. We keep it simple here. If someone needs a few beams or some plywood, they just walk in and we see what we have in the back. Our staff has been with us a while, so they know which piles are which. It’s hard, physical work and our hands are always rough. We don’t spend much on advertising or fancy signs. Most of our work comes from people who have been buying from us for decades. That is just how we like to keep it.
