Hotel Anand Corner

Hotel Anand Corner sits right on National Highway No 8. We are at the Samrakha Chokdi in Anand. Being on the highway means we get a lot of truck drivers and families traveling long distances. It's a dusty spot, as you'd expect from being so close to a major road. We've been here for quite a while. The place is just a simple building. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people find us just by driving past. The parking area out front is usually full of lorries. We start our day very early because the highway never really sleeps. There’s always someone looking for tea or a meal at odd hours. It’s just me and a few workers running the show. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything. We just wear what’s comfortable for working in a hot kitchen. The food is what we have available that day. Sometimes we run out of specific dishes if a big group comes in unexpectedly. That's just part of being on the NH8. We don't have air conditioning in the main area, just some fans that keep the air moving. It’s a basic stop for people who need a break from driving. We try to keep things moving so people can get back on the road. It’s not a place for a long stay, just a practical corner for a quick stop during a journey. It serves its purpose for anyone passing through Anand.
