Ganesh Bricks

Ganesh Bricks is found at 263/10, Kotni Street in Ramalayam. This is a quieter area compared to the main towns. We have a decent sized yard where we keep the red bricks. The soil around here is good for what we do. You can see the smoke from the chimneys if you look from the end of Kotni Street. We start the fires early and they stay going for days. It is a lot of watching and waiting. My father used to do this before me and now I am here every day. The work is physically demanding. We carry the bricks on our shoulders sometimes when the piles are too far for the cart. It makes your muscles sore by the end of the day. We don't have a big corporate office or any fancy equipment. Most of what we have is old and has been repaired many times. We drink tea under the thatched roof of our small break area. The local people know us by name. We don't spend money on ads because everyone knows where the yard is. If the bricks are solid, people come back when they have another project. If it rains, we have a mess on our hands, but we just wait for it to dry and start again. It is a simple cycle that we have followed for years now.
