It is a straightforward school without any of the fancy bells and whistles you might find in a big city. We have classrooms that are filled with wooden desks, many of which have been around since we first opened. The walls are covered with student drawings and maps that have faded a bit over time. We start our days early with the morning assembly, and from there it is just a routine of lessons and breaks. The staff room is small and usually smells like lunch being heated up. We spend a lot of our time talking to parents about how their children are doing and trying to organize the next school event. Kashipur can be a quiet place, but the school is always full of energy until the final bell rings in the afternoon.
