Kashmiri Lal Rajinder Kumar

Up in Amritsar, near the Lohgarh Gate, is where you will find our place. The shop is named Kashmiri Lal Rajinder Kumar. It’s been sitting near the Shivala Mandir for quite a while now. The bells from the temple can be heard clearly from our front door, which is a nice thing to listen to in the mornings. We are in the 143006 area, and this part of the city has a lot of history. Our shop is old-fashioned with wooden counters that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't use much modern technology here; we still do a lot of things the old way. We keep a variety of goods that the local families ask for. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the top. Sometimes it gets a bit dark inside, but we know where everything is kept even without looking. Customers stop by after their visit to the temple. It is a very social place where people talk about their families and what is happening in the city. We have a lot of heavy bags of flour and sugar that we have to move around daily. Our hands stay busy from the moment we open until the shutters go down at night. It’s just a steady life in a busy part of Amritsar. We don't need much more than that to be happy.
