K M Modern Rice Mill

You’ll find K M Modern Rice Mill right across from the Dera Sant Baba Bhuriwala on the Tarn Taran Road. It’s hard to miss because of all the activity. The road can be a bit bumpy, especially after the monsoon, but we are used to the trucks coming and going. The mill makes a lot of noise, a constant hum that you eventually stop hearing after a few weeks. We deal with farmers and drivers all day long. There’s a lot of dust from the grain, so we are always sweeping the floor. We’ve got a small office near the main gate where we keep the ledgers. It’s not air-conditioned, just a ceiling fan that’s seen better days and makes a clicking sound. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for deliveries to show up. The workers here have been with us for a long time, some even live just down the road. We don’t use fancy systems for everything; a lot of it is just knowing the weight of the bags by looking at them. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. But it’s good to see the sacks piled high in the warehouse. The location is convenient for the local transport because of the main road access. It’s a busy life here and we stay focused on the task. We have our own way of getting things done.
