Guru Nanak Engg. & Foundry Works

Guru Nanak Engg. & Foundry Works is at 166, Industrial Focal Point, on Mehta Road. This is a real industrial area, so there’s always the sound of metal clanging and machines running nearby. Our foundry is a hot place, especially when the furnace is going. We work with iron and molds, so everyone’s hands are usually a bit black from the soot and grease. It’s not a place for clean clothes. The building is old and the roof leaks a little when it pours, but it’s sturdy enough for the heavy work we do. Mehta Road is always full of trucks and trailers carrying raw materials. We have our own corner of the industrial estate where we pour the castings and let them cool. It’s hard work and it takes a lot of patience to get the pieces right. We don’t have a polished showroom. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find us in our work boots standing near the sand molds. We’ve been here since the industrial point was first set up. The office is just a small partitioned area with a dusty desk and some old blueprints rolled up in the corner. We drink a lot of strong tea to keep going through the shifts. It’s an honest trade, and we just focus on making parts that don't break when people use them in their own machines.
