Ideal Woollen & Silk Mills

We are located on G. T. Road in the Chheharta area. If you know the road, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and buses zooming past. The mill has been here for years, and the building shows its age a bit. We deal with wool and silk, so there’s always a specific smell in the air—sort of earthy and dusty at the same time. The windows are usually kept open to let a breeze in, but that also lets in the noise from the traffic. It’s not a quiet place by any means. Our staff is mostly local people who have been doing this for a long time. We don't have a HR department or fancy lunchrooms. We just sit around and have our tiffin together when there’s a break. The machinery is old but it works well because we take care of it ourselves. Sometimes the silk threads are finicky, and the wool gets everywhere, sticking to your clothes by the end of the shift. We don't put on any acts here. It’s just honest work on G. T. Road. People stop by sometimes just to ask for directions because we are right on the main path. It’s a gritty, real place where we get our hands dirty every single day. That’s just life at Ideal Woollen & Silk Mills. We aren't trying to be anything we're not.
