Bhatti Car Driving School

The office is right here at House Number 43 in the Amritsar GPO area. We have been teaching people how to handle a steering wheel for a long time. Amritsar traffic is not easy, so students are usually a bit nervous when they first sit in the driver's seat. We start them off on the quieter side streets before heading out to the main roads. The car we use is older but it runs fine and the clutch is easy to find. Sometimes we spend the whole morning just practicing how to reverse without hitting the curb. It takes patience, both for us and the person learning. We see all kinds of people, from young kids who just turned eighteen to older folks who finally decided they want to drive themselves around. The house where we work from is easy to find if you know where the post office is. We usually have the door open if the weather is nice. There is always a lot of noise from the street, but you get used to it. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break between lessons. It is not a complicated business, just showing people the rules and making sure they don't panic when a bus gets too close. We stay busy most weeks, especially during the summer months when students are on break.
