Bhaitej Bhan Bhalla Virasati Gharfoundation

We are located at Pind Baserke Gillan in the Attari block of Amritsar. Bhaitej Bhan Bhalla Virasati Gharfoundation is set up in a place that feels very connected to the land. Being in a village like Baserke Gillan means we are surrounded by fields and the pace of life is a bit different than the city center. We are staying at Amrik Singh’s place, which serves as our base for the foundation’s work. It is a very local setup, nothing like those big offices you see in the movies. We spend a lot of time talking to the people in the community and looking after the heritage aspects we are involved with. Amritsar is full of history, and being out here near Attari gives us a unique perspective on things. The roads can be a bit bumpy getting here, but the air is fresher. Our work involves a lot of visiting and talking, so we aren't always sitting behind a desk. Sometimes we are out in the courtyard or meeting people under a tree to discuss what needs to be done. It’s a very practical way of operating. We don't have fancy brochures, just our word and the work we do every day in the pind. People around here know the name, and we try to live up to the expectations of the community while keeping our traditions alive. It is a simple life but a busy one.
