You can find us at F 22/44 in Gali Bankey Behari. We are right off Batala Road, which is a pretty well-known spot. Our main thing is haldi, or turmeric as some call it. The whole street usually smells like spices because of the work we do. It’s a family-run kind of setup. We spend our days grading the haldi, packing it, and getting it ready for sales. The floors are often stained yellow from the powder, but that’s just part of the trade. We aren't a big factory; it’s more of a traditional warehouse and shop combined. Gali Bankey Behari is a narrow lane, so it can be a bit tricky when big trucks come to pick up orders. We’ve lived and worked in this area for years. People come to us because they know we’ve been around and we know our spices. We don’t spend money on fancy advertisements. Most people find us by word of mouth or by just walking past. We have some old scales that still work perfectly and a few benches for visitors to sit on. It gets pretty warm in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day. Sometimes my kids help out after school if we have a lot of bags to move. We just try to keep the stock fresh and keep our regular customers happy. It’s steady work and it keeps us connected to the community here.
