Our place is out in Ghansyamnagar, near Lalavadar. It’s a quiet spot in the Amreli district. Most people around here know Sudhir Kalubhai. We handle various electrical jobs under the name Elecrical. It’s not a big company with a fancy lobby. It’s more of a local operation run out of the neighborhood. We get a lot of work from the surrounding farms and houses. Life moves a bit slower here than in the big cities like Ahmedabad. We take our time to make sure things are done properly. Sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive by post, but that’s just how it is in this part of Gujarat. We don’t have a website or a big advertising budget. People just talk to each other and pass our name along. It’s honest work. We deal with wiring, fixing motors, and making sure the power stays steady. The dust gets everywhere, but you get used to it. We keep our tools organized, mostly. There’s always a kettle on for when someone drops by to talk about a job. We’ve been here a long time and know everyone on the street. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day after day. It keeps us busy and the community powered up. It is what it is.
