Taste Of South

You can find us over at the Rachana Dreams Apartment complex, right in shop numbers one through six. We are located in the Amravati Camp area, not too far from the Circuit House. Taste Of South is basically a neighborhood spot where people come for their morning idli or a quick dosa in the evening. Since we are in an apartment building, we see the same neighbors every single day, which is nice. It feels more like a community than just a business. The shop is pretty basic, just some counters and a few tables where you can sit and eat. We start very early in the morning to get the batter ready and the sambar going. The smell of curry leaves usually fills up the front of the shop by seven o'clock. It is a lot of work keeping the kitchen clean and the service fast, especially when the school kids and office goers are all in a hurry at the same time. We have had this spot for a bit now, and we have seen the neighborhood change around us. It gets quite hot in Amravati, so we try to keep the shop as airy as possible with the fans. We do not do any flashy advertising or anything. People just know we are here because they walk past us every day. It is a steady job, and we focus on making the food.
