Chinmaychhaya Murti Kala Kendra

Our workshop, Chinmaychhaya Murti Kala Kendra, is located at Shegaon Naka. This is where we do all our work with the sculptures. It’s a busy place, especially when festival seasons are coming up. You’ll usually find a lot of clay, tools, and half-finished pieces scattered around the floor. It’s not a clean or quiet place, but it’s where we feel at home. We’ve been at Shegaon Naka for quite some time now, and people in the area know us by the work we do. We don’t have any marketing people or a fancy office. It’s just a group of us who enjoy working with our hands. The air is often filled with the smell of wet earth and paint. We don’t use polished language to describe what we do. We just make things. Some days the work is hard and our hands get tired, but we keep at it. People stop by to watch us work or to ask about a specific piece. We don't have a formal showroom. The pieces are just lined up where there’s space. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but that’s the reality of a working studio. We start our day early and finish when the light goes down or when the work is done. It’s a simple life focused on the craft. We are just local people making things for our community in a way that feels right to us. We’ve stayed here for years and hope to stay longer.
