Saara Cast

Saara Cast is located at 93, Industrial Estate, and if you come by, you’ll definitely hear us before you see us. Metal casting is a loud and hot business, there is no way around that. We spend our days around the furnaces and the molds, and the floor is always covered in a bit of sand and dust. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit or clean shoes. We are a small team and most of us have been working with metal for decades. We don't have any fancy brochures or a glossy reception area for visitors. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just walk right into the workshop and find us near the back machines. The air always has that heavy smell of burnt sand and molten iron, which we don't even notice anymore after all these years. We take our tea breaks together under a small tin shed outside when the heat inside gets too much to handle. It’s hard, physical work, but it’s what we know how to do. The industrial estate has changed quite a bit since we first moved in, with new shops opening and old ones closing, but we just keep doing our thing at number 93. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. We just make the castings and try to keep the old machines running.
