Our workshop is located in Durga Nagar. It’s not a fancy part of town, just a regular neighborhood where people work hard. Dyeing is what we do, and it’s a very hands-on process. There is water and color everywhere most of the time. You can’t really work here without getting a bit of dye on your clothes or hands. It just comes with the job. We have these large vats where the fabric gets treated, and the air is often damp because of all the steam and water we use. It’s a loud place too, with the pumps running and people shouting to be heard over the noise. We don’t have a website or a salesperson. Most of our work comes from people who live nearby or who have known us for years. We aren't polished people. We wear old clothes and focus on getting the shades right. Sometimes the colors don't come out exactly as planned on the first try, so we have to do it again. That’s just the nature of dyeing. Durga Nagar is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we’ve got a lot of familiar faces dropping by just to say hello. It’s a messy, busy way to make a living. We spend a lot of time on the colors we produce, even if our workspace looks a bit chaotic to an outsider. It’s just how we get the job done every day.
