Mewat Engineering Works

Mewat Engineering Works is right by the bus stand in Barodameo. It’s a noisy spot because of all the buses and people shouting, but it brings in plenty of work. We mostly handle repairs for agricultural equipment and the vehicles that pass through. If a tractor breaks down nearby, it usually ends up here. The shop floor is mostly dirt and grease, and we have a few welding machines that get a lot of use. We started this place because Barodameo needed a spot where things could get fixed quickly without having to go all the way to a big city. Sometimes we're working on a plow, other times it’s a broken gate. It’s varied work. The bus stand is right there, so we see a lot of different faces every day. We don't really have set hours; if someone shows up with an emergency repair, we usually stay late to help them out. It’s dusty work, and the sun beats down on the corrugated roof in the summer, making it like an oven inside. We just drink plenty of water and keep going. Mewat Engineering Works isn't anything special to look at, just a shed with some tools and some guys who know how to weld and hammer things back into shape. It’s been our life for years now, and we like the rhythm of it. People know us as the guys by the bus stand who can fix just about anything mechanical.
