Jagdish Chandra

My name is Jagdish Chandra and I stay out here in Vill-Pali. It is a small village in the Post Office area of Doula, right in the heart of the hills in Almora, Uttarakhand. Life moves a bit slower up here than it does in the big cities. The air is fresh but the roads can be a bit tricky during the rainy season. Our pin code is 263660, and that is how the mail finds us, eventually. I have been in this village my whole life. The mountains are right there when you look out the window. It is not a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a room in my house where I keep my ledgers and do my work. Sometimes the internet is slow because of the weather, but we manage to get things finished. Most people in the village know where I live, so I don't need a big sign outside. We grow some of our own food and work on our tasks during the daylight hours. When winter comes, it gets quite cold, so we have to keep a fire going sometimes. It is a simple life but it is honest work. I don't have many employees, just a couple of local people who help out when there is a lot to do. We take our time and make sure things are right.
