If you’re driving through Ramnagar and you get to the Sheron Public School at the Lakhnauta Chouraha, that’s basically where we are. Ganishkha Farmers Producer Company is run out of Mr. Ajit Singh’s place right there. It’s a busy spot with the school kids around and the traffic coming through the crossroads. We’re a group of farmers who wanted to do something for ourselves. We don’t have any big investors or anything, just our own hands and the land we work on. The office is pretty simple, just a place to keep the records and meet up after a day in the fields. We talk about the crops, the weather, and how the markets are looking. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, but that’s just how it is in Ramnagar. We deal with whatever the local guys are growing, whether it’s grain or vegetables. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the trucks are loaded right. We don’t use a lot of big words or have fancy titles. Ajit keeps things organized and we all pitch in when things get hectic. It’s a practical way to live. We’ve had some tough years with the rain, but we keep going because that’s what we know how to do. You’ll usually find someone here until late, trying to finish up the day's books or planning for the next week's distribution.
