If you walk through Ram Nagar and get to Ward Number 2, you’ll likely see people coming and going from Mohd Hasem Ali’s place. That’s where we run Bondhan Hybrid Seeds Private Limited. We aren't some massive seed corporation from the city; we’re just local people who understand that a good harvest starts with what you put in the ground. We spend a lot of time looking at seeds and talking to the growers about what worked last year and what didn't. It’s not a very clean job—there’s always dust and sacks piled up everywhere—but it’s what we do. We don’t go in for big promises or fancy brochures. People around Ram Nagar know us, and they know we’re just trying to get them the stuff that actually grows in our soil. Sometimes we’re still working late into the evening, sorting things out under a dim light. It’s a bit of a squeeze in the office sometimes, especially when a shipment comes in and everyone wants their bags at once. We’ve had our share of mistakes, and things don’t always run like clockwork, but we’re here every day. We just want to make sure the farmers around here have a reliable place to get their seeds without having to travel too far or pay too much. It’s just us, doing our best in Ward 2 to help the local fields stay green and productive each year.
