Zareer A Unisex Salon

Our shop, Zareer A Unisex Salon, is located at 102-E, Tej Bahadur Sapru Road in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad. It is a busy part of town and we are right near the Rastogi Dental Clinic, which helps people find where we are located. Being a unisex place means we see all kinds of people throughout the day, from college students to older folks who have lived in Civil Lines forever. The street outside is always moving, but inside we try to keep things steady. I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the chairs are ready for the next person. We have got some basic equipment and the lights stay on late most evenings. It is not like those corporate places you see in the malls. This is a real shop where the floor gets covered in hair by noon and we have to sweep it up while talking to the customers. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break. The mirrors have a few spots on them and the chairs might squeak a little, but it works for us. People come here because they know we have been on T.B. Sapru Road for a while and they do not need an appointment to just walk in and sit down. It is just how we do things here in Allahabad, keeping it simple and doing the work every day.
