Our office is located out in Jhalwa. It’s a bit of a quiet area, which suits the kind of work we do at the trust. We spend our days mostly handling paperwork and meeting with people from the community. The building is a simple one, nothing too modern or flashy. Inside, we have some wooden desks and rows of steel cupboards for all our files. There’s always a stack of documents waiting to be signed or filed away. We have a small courtyard where we sometimes sit when the weather is nice. It’s not a fast-paced environment. Things move at a steady speed here. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just a couple of old computers and a printer that jams once in a while. Jhalwa is a growing place, and we’ve seen more houses coming up around us lately. Most of our visitors are locals who have been coming here for years to discuss their needs. We offer a glass of water to anyone who walks in. The staff is just a few people who have lived in this part of town for a long time. We don't go in for big meetings or long speeches. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the monthly reports before the weekend. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We like the quiet life here in Jhalwa and the people we see every day.
