The Heritage Public School

We are located out in Fulbari, specifically the Ashokebari part of Jalpaiguri. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town center, but that means it’s a lot greener and quieter here. The Heritage Public School has been around for a bit and we have students coming from all over the local area. The school building is pretty standard for this part of West Bengal. We have a lot of windows to let the breeze in because it gets really humid during the monsoon. The ground outside gets a bit muddy when it rains heavily, which is often. We have to tell the kids to wipe their feet before they enter the classrooms. Most of our teachers live in Jalpaiguri and take the bus or ride their scooters here every morning. The classrooms have wooden desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. We spend our mornings doing the usual things like checking registers and making sure the blackboards are clean. It’s a very local feel here. You can hear the birds from the nearby trees during the quiet moments of a lesson. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us teachers and the staff trying to run a school in the countryside. People around here know us by name. It’s a simple life and we just try to get through the syllabus and keep the kids focused on their books.
