You can find B. Roy & Co. over in Ward Number 32, right by Gate Bazar in Bhaktinagar. Jalpaiguri is a nice place to live, even if it gets very wet during the monsoon months. Our office is situated in a busy part of the bazar where there’s always a lot of shouting and activity. We’ve been operating from this same spot for a long time. The building is old and the stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step when you come up to see us. We are just a small group of people doing clerical and trade work. We don't use much fancy technology, mostly just a couple of old computers and a lot of filing cabinets that are overflowing with papers. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we have our own system and it works for us. Gate Bazar is a good location because we are close to everything we need. We get our lunch from the local dhaba most days. We don't have a corporate strategy or anything like that. We just come in at nine, do our tasks, and go home to our families in the evening. If the power goes out, we open the windows and keep going as long as there is daylight. It’s a simple, honest way to run a company in Jalpaiguri.
