Variety Enterprises

Variety Enterprises is located on Lakhpati Street in the Hathras area, quite close to Malin Gali. This is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are so narrow that you can almost touch the walls on both sides. We’ve been here for a long time, and the shop has become a bit of a second home to us. As the name suggests, we deal with a whole lot of different things. Our shelves are packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of items, and it can be hard to navigate if you don’t know your way around. We don't have any fancy computers or inventory software. Everything is written down in a big ledger that sits on the main counter. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. The street is always loud with the sounds of other shopkeepers and people bargaining. We like the energy of the market, even if it gets a bit overwhelming on the weekends. We don't have a big staff, just me and a couple of guys who help with the customers. We don't spend any time on branding or advertising. Most people find us because their parents or grandparents shopped here before them. It’s a simple way of doing business that hasn't changed much in years. We just open up the shutters every morning and see what the day brings.
