Chauhan Foods

You can find us right at the Mall Road Chauraha. It’s a very busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out and about near Sagar Market. We are also quite close to the Heer Palace Cinema, so we get a lot of people coming by after they finish watching a movie. The traffic at the intersection can get pretty loud with all the horns and the rickshaws, but you stop noticing it after an hour or so. We spend most of the morning prepping things. There is a lot of chopping and sorting to do before the lunch crowd shows up. The kitchen gets pretty hot, so we usually have the back door open to get a little bit of a breeze. It’s not a huge place, just a simple spot to get some food. We’ve had some of the same staff for a few years now, and we all just kind of know what to do without talking too much. Sometimes the supply truck can't find a place to park because Mall Road is so crowded, and we have to carry the bags ourselves from a block away. It’s a bit of work, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We just try to keep the food fresh and the place clean enough for folks to feel comfortable. It keeps us on our feet all day long.
