R.C.S. Roller Flour Mills Limited

We operate out of the Sut Mill area on Delhi Road. R.C.S. Roller Flour Mills Limited has been a part of this landscape for quite a long time now. If you walk near our gate, you can usually smell the grain in the air. It’s a big, tall building because of the way the milling process works with gravity. We have large rollers going all day long, and the vibration is something you feel in your feet when you’re standing inside. It’s dusty work, and we all wear caps to keep our hair clean and out of the way. We get trucks full of wheat coming in from the farms, and it’s our job to turn it into something useful for people to use. Delhi Road is always packed with traffic, which makes the logistics a bit of a headache sometimes, but we’ve learned the best times to move our goods out. We aren’t trying to be the biggest mill in the country, just a reliable one for the people who buy from us. The machinery needs a lot of looking after, so there’s always someone with a wrench making adjustments or oiling something. It’s a loud, busy life, but we like it that way. We’ve got a lunchroom where we all sit together and take a break from the noise for a bit before getting back to the mill.
