Akhand Study Centre is located right on Railway Rd in Aligarh, which is about as central as you can get. The trains are constantly moving nearby, so there is always this background hum of the city. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It’s an old place with high ceilings and some character. We haven't changed much since we moved in. The desks are wooden and sturdy, the kind that lasts forever. We don't go for a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just a place to study. Every morning, we unlock the heavy shutters and let the light in. The walk from the station is short, so we get a lot of people passing by. It’s a bit of a squeeze when everyone is here at once, but we make it work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We're usually too busy with the day-to-day stuff. You’ll find piles of books and old registers on the main desk. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. Aligarh has a lot of these small study spots, and we’re just one of them. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a quiet-ish space on a very loud road. We like the grit of Railway Rd. It keeps us grounded and reminds us why we are here every day. No big claims, just a place for students.
