Vinaya Book Stall

Our little book stall is situated right by the Post Office in Kalavoor. Being directly across from the Government Higher Secondary School means we see a lot of students every single day. They usually come in rushing for a pen or a notebook right before their classes start. It is a modest place, just enough room for the stacks of books and stationery we keep on hand. Kalavoor is a decent place to be, and being near the school keeps the atmosphere lively. We spend a lot of our time sorting through new arrivals and making sure the textbooks are where they should be. The school bell is basically our clock, letting us know when the lunch rush is coming or when it is time to start packing things up for the evening. It can get a bit hectic when the exams are around the corner and everyone needs the same guidebooks at once. We don't have a huge staff or anything, just a few of us making sure the shelves don't stay empty for too long. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the front, but we just move the paper away and keep going. It is just a regular local book stall, nothing more and nothing less. We’ve been here long enough that most people recognize the face behind the counter. It is quiet in the mornings before the post office opens and the school kids arrive, which is a nice time to get things organized.
