Green Cocomats

At Green Cocomats, we operate out of House No. Xii-699, Pra-40 in Vikas Nagar. We are in Pazhaveedu, which is a place we’ve called home for a long time. Our work is all about coconut mats. If you come by the house, you’ll probably see some of the raw materials or finished mats waiting to be moved. It’s not a big factory or anything like that; it’s more of a local operation. We spend our days dealing with the coir and making sure the quality is okay. The fibers get everywhere, on our clothes and in our hair, but that’s just part of the job. Pazhaveedu is a decent place to work from, and being in Vikas Nagar means we know most of our neighbors. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. We just make the mats and sell them to people who need them. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to dry the materials, and we have to wait for the sun to come out. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and it’s a steady living. The address is easy enough to find if you’re looking for Vikas Nagar. We just keep our heads down and get the mats finished so they can be sent out to whoever ordered them. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it’s honest. We don’t really have many visitors besides the delivery trucks coming to pick up bundles.
