Parayil Food Products

The industrial area here in Aroor is always buzzing with something or other. We are located near St. Augstin Church, right off NH-47. You can usually hear the church bells if the wind is blowing the right way, though the trucks on the highway usually drown everything else out. At Parayil Food Products, we mostly focus on getting the work done and getting the orders out. It’s a pretty functional space with concrete floors and high ceilings. We have a small team from the local neighborhood who walk or bike in every morning. The smell of whatever we are making that day usually fills the whole block. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the crates and supplies, but we know where everything is. Sometimes the rain here in Kerala is so heavy we can't hear ourselves speak inside the unit. We just keep our heads down and work through it. There is a small tea shop just down the road where we grab snacks in the evening. Most of our neighbors are other small factories, so everyone just minds their own business. It’s not a glamorous place to work, but it’s ours. We don’t do much advertising; folks just find us because we’ve been here for years. The NH-47 traffic is a pain, but it makes shipping easier for the drivers and we just deal with the noise.
