Flavours Of Kerala

We are based in Chirakkal, right near the Poochakkal post office area. It’s a quiet enough spot but we stay busy with all the food stuff we handle every day. The air around here usually smells like whatever spices we are working with that morning. We don’t have a big flashy office or anything like that. It’s mostly just work tables and storage bins filled with ingredients. A lot of our time is spent sorting through things by hand to make sure they look okay. The weather can be a bit of a problem when it rains really hard, as the roads get muddy and the deliveries take forever to reach us. We have a few local people who have been with us for years now. We just sit around the back sometimes during our breaks and talk about the news. It’s a simple operation where we focus on getting the snacks and mixes ready. Sometimes we run out of packaging tape or a machine gets stuck, and we have to spend an hour fixing it ourselves. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just want to get the orders filled and sent out to whoever is waiting for them. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks and moving boxes around the floor. We close up once the sun goes down and head back to our homes nearby.
