Z P School

Z P School is located on Shirkund Road in Ruikhed, which is part of the Akot area in Akola. Being a Zilla Parishad school, we are a government-run institution that serves the local village community. The school is surrounded by a lot of open space and farmland, so it feels very connected to the rural life of Maharashtra. Most of the children who study here come from families living in Ruikhed or the nearby small settlements. They usually walk to school along Shirkund Road in their uniforms. The building is quite basic, with a few classrooms that have thick walls to help keep out the intense Akola heat. We have a small area in the front where we hold the morning assembly every day before classes start. The teachers here are very familiar with the local families, and many have been working at this school for many years. We focus on teaching the basics like reading, writing, and simple arithmetic. There aren't any fancy gadgets or high-tech labs here, just the essential tools for a primary education. We have a small garden that we try to maintain, though it is hard when the water is scarce in the summer. In the afternoons, after the final bell rings, the school becomes very quiet as the kids head back to their homes. It is a simple, honest place that provides a foundation for the children in this part of the district. We just take things one day at a time and do our best for the kids.
