Hindustan Medicine

We have been running Hindustan Medicine here in Ratna Nagar for quite some time now. Akola gets really warm during the summer months, so we usually keep the fans running at full speed while we sort through the new boxes of medicine that arrive. The shop isn't fancy or anything, just a regular place with shelves lining the walls from floor to ceiling. Most days start early because people in Ratna Nagar like to get their errands done before the sun gets too high. We spend a lot of time checking expiry dates and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when a big shipment comes in and we have to stack crates near the front door. We know most of the people who walk through that door by their first names. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and talking to folks about what the doctor wrote on their slips. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us making sure the inventory stays updated. The street outside can get noisy with the local traffic, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. It's practical work. We make sure the fridge is working for the stuff that needs to stay cold. Sometimes we run out of space for all the files, so the back desk is always a mess of papers and pens. It’s just how things are here in Akola.
