Sri Venkata Padmavathi Rice Mill

This is the Sri Venkata Padmavathi Rice Mill-I, and we are situated right on Bhimavaram Road. It’s a large building, mostly because we need the space for all the equipment and the storage. Rice milling is a straightforward business, but it takes a lot of effort to keep everything moving. We have been on this road for years, and not much has changed in terms of how we do things. The morning starts with checking the machines and making sure the power is steady. Then the noise starts. It’s a rhythmic sound that fills up the whole space. We don't have any corporate slogans or mission statements posted on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and some old notes taped near the switches. The workers here are mostly locals who have been doing this for a long time. We handle a lot of grain every single day. The heat can be a bit much in the middle of the day, so we take our breaks in the shade near the back. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't spend time making things look pretty for visitors because we don't get many visitors who aren't here for business. If you are on Bhimavaram Road, you’ll see the trucks coming in and out. That’s us. Just a regular rice mill doing what needs to be done.
