Vijay General Store

Vijay General Store is right there at the Kishangarh Bus Stand on the Ajmer Road. Being near the bus stand means it is almost always noisy and crowded. People are always in a big rush, running to catch their ride or getting off after a long trip from another town. We sell a lot of cold water and quick snacks because of that. The shop is small and can get very hot in the summer because the sun hits the front all afternoon. We have plastic bins of stuff lined up outside on the pavement so people can see what we have as they walk past. It is a busy life here and we do not have much time for sitting down. There is always someone asking for change or looking for a specific item for their journey. The Ajmer Road is never really quiet, and we stay open pretty late to catch the passengers from the last buses. Our shelves are packed tight to make the most of the limited space we have. Sometimes things fall off if you are not careful when reaching for them. We have been at this spot for quite a while, so we have seen the bus stand change over the years. We do not use any fancy marketing. The sign for Vijay General Store is big enough for people to see from the windows of the passing vehicles. It is just a practical business.
