Tak General Store

Tak General Store is located on Harmada Road in Kishangarh. It is a straight road that sees a lot of traffic during the day. I spend most of my time standing behind the wooden counter, waiting for the next person to walk through the door. We have all the basic stuff like lentils, rice, soaps, and those little packets of shampoo. I try to keep things where people can see them, but the shop is quite full so it is a bit of a squeeze. People in Kishangarh are mostly friendly. They stop their bikes outside on the road and run in for a quick item. I keep a few chairs out front for the older men who like to sit and talk for a bit. The Harmada Road area is growing, so there are always new faces too. I remember when I first started, the road was much quieter. Now, it is loud with motorcycles and trucks. I handle everything myself, from ordering the goods to sweeping the floor at night. Sometimes I forget to order something and then a customer asks for it, which is embarrassing, but they usually understand. It is just a regular life here. I close up when it gets dark and the street lights come on. It is not a big business, just a way to stay busy and serve the people living around Harmada Road. My life is tied to this road and the shop.
