Shri Sitaram Sweet

If you walk down to Madar Gate, you will find Shri Sitaram Sweet. We are usually busy in the mornings when the smell of fresh snacks starts filling the air and people are hungry. It’s a small place where we make traditional sweets and savories every single day. The big iron vats are almost always bubbling with hot oil or milk on the stove. We don't have fancy tables or a big dining area, just a simple counter where people stand and eat or take their parcels home. Madar Gate is a very busy area, so there is always a crowd of people passing by our door. Some stop for a quick bite on their way to work or school. We spend our time rolling out dough or checking the sugar syrup for the sweets. It’s hot and sticky work, especially in the summer months, but that’s the nature of running a sweet shop. We have glass jars filled with different kinds of treats and snacks. The walls are a bit stained from the steam of the cooking, and the floor needs a lot of cleaning because of the sugar, but we keep at it. It’s a family-run kind of feeling here. We don't use a lot of modern machines; most things are still done by hand with old recipes. People know us for the basic stuff they have been eating for years. We aren't trying to be a modern cafe or a fancy restaurant. We are just a local sweet shop at Madar Gate doing what we have always done for everyone around.
