Shri Ram Provision Store

Shri Ram Provision Store is right here on Kutcheri Road. We open up early because the traffic towards Subhash Nagar gets busy quite fast. If you know the area near Khan Pura Road, you probably pass us every day. The shelves are mostly full of the usual things people need for their kitchens like pulses and oils. It gets a bit dusty with the trucks passing by on Kutcheri Road, so there is always some cleaning to do. We spend a lot of time just arranging the sacks and making sure the sugar doesn't spill. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the bench for a bit. My father used to handle the books but now I do it mostly. Being near Khan Pura Road means we see a lot of the same faces every evening. It is a simple life at the shop. The floor needs sweeping twice a day because of the mud from Subhash Nagar. We don't have fancy lights or anything. Just the basic tubes that flicker a little. Most days are quiet until the office crowd comes through. We try to keep enough stock so people don't have to go all the way into the main city. Sometimes the deliveries are late and we have to wait around. That is just how things go here at Shri Ram Provision Store. It is not a very big place but we make it work somehow on Kutcheri Road. We use an old iron scale for some of the bigger bags.
