Shri Rajasthan Namkin & Sweets

We are located in Vaishali Nagar in Ajmer, not too far from the Mansingh Palace hotel. The shop is usually full of the smell of hot oil and spices because we are always frying up a new batch of namkeen. We start early in the morning, getting the dough ready and heating up the big vats. It gets quite hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months in Rajasthan, but we are used to it by now. We have glass counters filled with different types of sweets like laddus and barfis that we make fresh. People from the neighborhood stop by on their way home to pick up a bag of something salty or a box of sweets for their families. It isn't a huge place, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when too many people come in at once. We spend our time weighing out portions and tying up bags with rubber bands. There’s always someone cleaning the counters or bringing out a fresh tray of snacks from the back. We don't have any fancy displays; we just put the food out so people can see what we have made that day. Some days we run out of the popular stuff before noon and have to tell people to wait for the next batch. It’s just a simple sweet shop where we work hard and hope people enjoy what we cook. Most of us have been working here for years now.
