Shiv Kirana Store

Shiv Kirana Store is located in the Saghana Market area of Vijay Nagar. It is a busy marketplace where people come for their weekly shopping. We spend a lot of our morning unloading crates and setting things up. The shop is filled with the smell of spices and soaps. We have big bags of rice and flour sitting on the floor. It can be hard to move around when we have a new shipment. The market gets very loud with all the vendors shouting and bikes honking. We try to keep our corner of the market as organized as possible. Customers come from all over Vijay Nagar. Some come just to talk for a few minutes while they pick up their groceries. We have a small bench outside where some of the older men sit. The roof is made of tin and it gets really loud when it rains. We don't use a computer for our work, just a calculator and some notebooks. It is a simple setup but it works for us. We are just part of the everyday life here in Saghana Market. Sometimes we run out of things sooner than expected and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s just how it goes in a small kirana store.
