Build Floor

Our shop, Build Floor, is situated over in the RIICO Colony. It’s a decent enough area for a small business like ours. We mostly focus on different types of flooring materials for houses. When you walk into the shop, you’ll see samples of different tiles and stones leaning up against the walls. It’s not a giant corporate showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s more of a practical space where people can actually see and touch what they’re getting. We spend our days helping people figure out how many square feet of tile they need for their rooms. Often, they come in with a small scrap of paper with some rough measurements scribbled on it. We sit down with a calculator and try to work it out together. Sometimes we have to tell them we’re out of stock on a certain pattern, which is always a bit of a hassle for everyone. We get our supplies from various factories and sometimes the delivery trucks are a day or two late. That's just part of the daily job. The back room is where we keep all the heavy boxes of tiles. It’s physical work moving them around, especially when a big shipment arrives. We have a small desk where we do the billing and paperwork. There’s usually a pot of tea on the go if someone wants a cup. We like being in the RIICO Colony.
