Raj Namkeen & Sweets

Raj Namkeen & Sweets is located on Adarsh Nagar Nasirabad Road. It’s a main road, so there are always cars and trucks zooming past. The noise never really stops until very late at night. We’ve been here for a bit, and we’ve seen the road get busier every year. The shop is small, so we have to stack things up high to make everything fit. We make a lot of different types of namkeen because people traveling on the road like to buy big bags of it for their journeys. It’s a lot of work to weigh everything out and pack it into plastic bags. We don’t have any fancy machines for that, we just do it all by hand with a little scale. Sometimes the scale acts up, and we have to fix it. The sweets we make are the basic ones that stay good for a few days since it’s so hot out on the road. We don’t use any complicated recipes, just what we learned from our elders. The floor is concrete and we try to keep it clean, but with people coming in from the dusty road, it’s a constant battle. We don’t have any big advertisements or anything. Most people just see the sign and pull over. We are just here every day from morning till night, making snacks and selling them to whoever stops by without any big talk.
