Nafeez General Store

If you are walking down Masuda Road in Kharwa, you will find Nafeez General Store near the Patwar Bhawan. It is not a huge place, just a regular shop where we keep a bit of everything that families might need during the week. Kishangarh can get quite warm, so the shop is a bit of a shade for me during the day. I have been here long enough that I don't even need to ask what some customers want; I just see them coming and start reaching for their usual brand of tea or soap. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things, from plastic buckets to small packets of spices. Sometimes it feels a bit crowded inside when more than two people are trying to look at things at the same time. The road outside stays dusty with all the vehicles going towards the main part of town. I usually spend my time rearranging the jars or checking what we are running low on. It is a quiet life for the most part, except when the school nearby lets out and the kids come crowding around for snacks. We just try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to go too far to find what they are looking for. It is just me here most days, handling the cash and making sure things stay in some kind of order on the shelves. It is not fancy, but it gets the job done.
