Mehta Anupam Jain & Company is located in Adarsh Nagar. We are situated right near the Shri Ram Dharam Kanta. That weighing scale is a good landmark because everyone around here knows exactly where it is. Our office is in an older building that has been around for a long time. Because the walls are so thick, it stays fairly quiet inside even when the street is noisy. We have stacks of files and folders almost everywhere you look. It seems like the more we try to organize, the more paperwork we end up with. Our desks are made of heavy wood and take up a lot of space. We have some old ceiling fans that hum loudly throughout the day. The windows look out onto the main street where trucks and carts are always passing by. It gets very dusty, so we have to wipe down the furniture every morning before we start. We have a small corner in the back with a water cooler and some cups. Most of the people working here have been with the company for a very long time. We know each other’s families and tell stories during lunch. It feels more like a small neighborhood group than a corporate office. We do not use much fancy technology if we can avoid it. Many of our records are still kept in big registers. The day passes quickly with people coming in and out. By the time we lock up, we are usually quite tired.
