Mayank Traders

You can find Mayank Traders right in Ganpati Market, which sits along National Highway 79A. It’s a busy spot because of the highway, so we see a lot of people passing through. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot of stuff onto the shelves. Most days involve unloading crates and checking what we need to restock. The highway noise is pretty constant, but you get used to it after a while. We have been in this market for a bit and know most of the other shopkeepers around us. People stop by when they are traveling or if they live nearby and need something quickly. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns watching the counter and moving the stock around. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit mixed up, but we eventually find what a customer is looking for. We don't do much advertising; people just see our sign from the road and pull over. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for the next person to walk in, then a lot of rushing when a few people arrive at once. The market gets quite crowded on certain days, which makes parking a bit of a mess, but that’s just how it goes here. We keep the shop open late most nights because that’s when the highway traffic is still moving. It’s a dusty place because of the road, so we are always wiping down the counters.
