Maya Traders & General Store

You can find Maya Traders & General Store right near Agra Gate. It is one of those old parts of the city where everything is close together. We sell a mix of things. Since we are both a trader and a general store, we have bulk items and also small things for the house. We have bags of grain stacked in the corner. The shelves have everything from cleaning supplies to cooking oil. It is a bit of a maze inside sometimes. We have been at Agra Gate for a long time. The building has thick walls so it stays a little cooler in the heat. We know all the other shopkeepers around here. We talk to each other while waiting for customers. Maya Traders & General Store is a name people recognize in this neighborhood. We don't do any advertising. People just know where we are. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble getting through the narrow gate area. We have to carry the sacks in by hand when that happens. It’s hard work but it’s what we do. The floor is old stone and we sweep it every morning before we open. We don't have a computer or fancy lights. Just a regular store for regular people who live in this part of town. It gets very busy on market days and weekends.
