Marble Mahal

Our place is at H-73 on Road No. 6, which is pretty close to the telephone exchange in the Bidiayad Industrial Area. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of trucks and factories nearby. You can hear the machines running from the other units most of the morning. We have a good amount of space here for the marble, which is lucky because these slabs take up a lot of room. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly pretty to look at. Everything is practical. We have big gates and enough room for the cranes to move things around. The floor is usually covered in scrap pieces and stone dust. We spend our days checking the blocks and making sure nothing is cracked. It’s a bit out of the way for some people, but those who are building houses usually find us. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon. We have a small area where we sit and handle the paperwork, but mostly we are walking around the rows of stone. It’s a lot of manual labor. People come in with measurements on scraps of paper and we try to find something that fits. It is just a normal daily grind. We don’t have a website or anything. We just open up early, do the work, and close when the sun goes down.
